Chief Instructor: Rick Goodman Sensei
Rick Goodman Sensei holds an 8th degree black belt in Kokikai Aikido and is one of its three most senior and respected instructors in the world. He has trained for 40 years under the continuous instruction and guidance of Shuji Maruyama Sensei, Founder of Kokikai Aikido.
Rick Goodman first started his training in 1976 with Maruyama Sensei in Northeast Philadelphia. In 1980, he was asked to instruct at the dojo, which he did until 1990 when he moved to Flemington. For five years, he continued to be a guest instructor at the Northeast Dojo and was made an “instructor at large”, traveling to various dojos to ensure the correct application of Kokikai principles. In 1995, he began teaching locally in Flemington and moved to HealthQuest in 2003. He has conducted seminars in Philadelphia, Seattle and San Francisco.
Goodman Sensei’s interest in teaching Kokikai Aikido is to help people realize their full potential to live peaceful and successful lives.
